The Explorers in April!

THE EXPLORERS IN APRIL

EASTER – THE RESURRECTION

Memory Verse:
“So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new
creation.”

2 Corinthians 5:17.

During April The Explorers will focus on the death and
resurrection of Jesus and what that means for our lives today.

The butterfly has long been a Christian symbol of resurrection
for it disappears into a cocoon and appears dead, but emerges
later far more beautiful and powerful than before.

Blastoff Week (April 3)

The children will be listening to the story of what happened on Easter
Sunday focusing on the resurrection and the empty tomb. They will do a
craft symbolizing the new life we have in Jesus.

Drama Week (April 10)

There will be a Memory Verse Hunt and a Road to Easter Game along
with a dramatized interview with Mary Magdalene and Salome.

Technology Week (April 17)

The children will have a "Movie Day" and watch the end of the Jesus
Movie.

Life Application Week (April 24- Easter Sunday)

We will have an Easter Egg Hunt and decorate paper eggs if there is time.

The Explorers in January!

THE EXPLORERS IN JANUARY

THE KINGDOM OF GOD – “THERE WILL BE NO

HUNGER”

– JESUS FEEDS 5,000

John 6: 1-15)

(

Memory Verse:
"He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the
Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without
cost from the spring of the water of life." Revelation 21:6.

The explorers are starting the new year by investigating the miracles of
Jesus and how they relate to the kingdom of heaven. This month we look at
the feeding of the 5000 from 5 loaves and 2 fish. The focus of these miracles
is to highlight the breaking in of the new kingdom that will be fully realized
in the New Jerusalem. We will also be making connections as to what that
means for our lives today.

Blastoff Week (January 9)

The children will be listening to the story of the feeding of the 5000.
They will then be involved in the process of making food to help them
enter the story.

Drama Week (January 16)

We will be looking at how great a miracle feeding 5000 from 2 fish and
5 loaves is. 5000 is a large number to be explored and made concrete
through dramatic exercises.

Technology Week (January 23)

The children will have a "Movie Day" that focuses on the miracles of
Jesus.

Life Application Week (January 30)

The children will be participating in games relating to the story.
